Pumpkin Festival
For this, our first seasonal edit, we wanted to get inspired by all the wonderful variety of pumpkins on offer at this time of year. We headed over to the annual pumpkin festival at the Riverhill Himalyan Gardens in Sevenoaks to get a first glimpse of what felt to us to be the first day of Autumn. The sun was shining and it was a cool crisp day, perfect for a stroll around the stunning grounds at Riverhill.

There is plenty to keep the children entertained this autumn with pumpkin carving in the grotto and a fun pumpkin hunt around the gardens. The gardens are magnificent in Autumn with 12-acres to enjoy, featuring woodland paths, a walled garden, a spectacular Edwardian Rock Garden, and breathtaking views across the Weald of Kent.
Decorating your Home with Pumpkins this Autumn.
After our day out at the Pumpkin Festival, our thoughts turned to how we can decorate our homes this Autumn. We love to attune to each season and celebrate the changing of the seasons. We have plenty of wonderful ideas to transform your home this October, and for this seasonal edition journal entry, we have sifted out a wonderful selection of furniture and accessories from our collections inspired by the Pumpkin Festival. To display our ideas, we have created a vision board of inspiration for how to dress an entrance hallway this season, and to demonstrate how to style your front door for this Halloween.
For the hallway, we have featured a rustic wood console table with brass lamps that would be classic pieces to have in your home throughout the year. To dress the console table for Autumn, we like the idea of picking out a selection of books to reflect the colour of the season and displaying a central floral arrangement of autumnal blooms. Changing the lampshades each season is also a lovely way to refresh a scheme, which for this Autumn can be displayed alongside pumpkin ornaments which can be brought out and reused year after year.
For the front door, we have hung a pumpkin wreath, and displayed a wonderful array of real pumpkins on the front doorstep with some outdoor candles for a warm welcome when your guests arrive for dinner.

If you would like to visit the Riverhill Himalayan Gardens yourself this Autumn, the Pumpkin Festival is on from Saturday 14th October 2023 until Sunday 29th October 2023. You can bring your own pumpkins for carving in the grotto or choose from one of the many varieties available for sale at the gardens.
